Hi, Thanks for any help in advance. I have my site all set up and looking beautiful the way I want and I had a large influx of viewers from a press release last week but this plugin Kubio keeps auto updating and ruining my design….

I have to keep deleting the updated version of the plugin and extracting the 1.8 version I have saved in cpanel. After I restore the previous version everything goes back to normal (the design is OK at the moment but next time I turn around tomorrow it will have updated to 2.0 again)

I’ve tried disabling auto update in updates manager for that plugin and adding some code in the functions but it still keeps updating…

It ruins the design, I don’t know what game they’re playing at with the latest update but it wrecks the homepage title and tries to get you to sign up for pro version

Kubio plugin seems to be tied to the Theme Elevate…. if I can just stop the plugin updating permanently I will be happy.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Update: Do you think the plugin “Kubio” is somehow tied to the Theme and thats why it continues to update even though I blocked it in updates manager?

Elevate is mainly designed for small businesses, startups, or personal portfolio websites and works perfectly with Kubio Page Builder?

Perhaps if I block the theme from updating it will stop the plugin updating?

I don’t mind about the security risks from blocking auto updates, I just want it to stop ruining my site design when I have a lot of visitors looking.

    Hello @richieb799,

First off all I want to apologize for any inconvenience you have with our product.

I want to let you know that we are not forcing updates on the plugin, nor we are restricting your website functionality if you are not a PRO customer. Most probably the issues you encounter with the latest version of Kubio are due to a conflict with another plugin, that needs further investigation.

Until then, please make sure that WordPress built-in features to auto-update are turned off in WP-Admin -> Plugins for the Kubio plugin.

Also, if you made changes to the theme ( like editing the functions.php file ), and then update it all the changes will be overridden, as the entire theme folder will be replaced with the one from the updated version ( this is the default WordPress behavior ). Please make sure that the auto-update feature is turned off for the theme too.

The latest version of Kubio adds support for WordPress 6.4 and above, and AI capabilities that we are gradually rolling out.

After the large influx of users passes, we might take a look at why the latest version of Kubio is breaking your website, you can also contact us directly at [email protected]

Please let me know if disabling the auto-update feature fixes your issue, and let me know if there is anything else we can help with.

Thanks for replying fast, the design is great…I just need to stop it updating because its removing previous things I added to the homepage like the donate button and description and treating the homepage as a regular page and I can’t afford to sign up to pro.

I don’t think I said “Force”, I just said that Kubio shows an option to sign up to Pro…I don’t have time to spend redesigning or figuring out why its changing my homepage…Its not due to a theme edit.

At the moment my solution is going to be figuring out how to stop it auto updating and keeping the previous version of the plugin…thanks for the links hopefully I can find out how from those

its still auto updating even though I turned off auto update for theme and plugin, this is driving me nuts

(Update- I think I know why it is Auto-Updating….I just looked in cPanel because I was curious…and as I suspected there appears to be a tickbox in Softaculous labelled “Auto Update WordPress Plugins”….. (will auto update every 24 hours)

That’s absolutely whats caused it, how silly of them….that feature is not needed in cPanel… anyway I’m happy its fixed for now I’m going to De-stress…..I might contact you again if I need to update – Thanks
