I am having the same problems, Tags are gone and some sidebar widgets. Sadly these things are hard to deal with. Right now the tech guy at my hosting service is no help. Hopefully someone else can be more help someday. I have found nothing in the forums and it seems to be a common enough problem but no easy fix. A few days ago it all returned and was fine again. I was delighted. Then it all vanished again after three or so days. Some people talk about database issues and restoring and repairing all of it but I cannot do that. I also read of some people who did all that and the problem persisted. Hopefully it will be an issue fixed in 2.8.5 but this is a problem that is common in other versions. I certainly hope mine come back again, but then worry if they will just vanish again.
