• I have upgraded to the multi-site network. Everything worked fine and I even set up the second site. However, when I go to the site it takes me to the main domain 404 page.

I was told to import the content from the old site to the new site, I did that..but it only ended up going to the main blog itself instead of the new site created. I have no idea where I’ve messed up as I followed the instructions step by step.

https://poetry.saanamsmind.com should now be https://saanamsmind.com/poetry but I don’t see anything there.

Plus, none of my themes are working. All I see is color, no images whatsoever. Only one of the themes is working but rest of them are not.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.

  • My host provider set it up so that thought.saanamsmind.com points to thought-frenzy.com

That could be why it’s not working.

Most shared hosts have no idea how to do domain mapping with WordPress.

No, they did that yesterday, after I couldn’t figure out what else to do and someone suggested to call the host provider. Now it’s working fine, without domain mapping. He said there was different ways to do that.

But my themes still have issues. Some of them work fine, while others don’t show up with images. Just text and words.

It’s not the themes. It;s the htaccess file.

If the theme do not show the styles it is hands down always the htaccess files, not the themes themselves, not multisite.

He said there was different ways to do that.

There are, for different situations. For multisite, there’s a standard way to do it.
