Please explain the filter settings better

  • In the basic settings you can filter the_content, the_excerpt, the_title

    The documentation has the following explanation of this feature:

    7. Apply filters during publishing – Please select the filters if you want to apply these filters while publishing the post.

    But what does this mean? It doesn’t explain or clarify what the filters do. It just reiterates that you can apply filters during publishing.

    I have no idea what the effect of applying these filters is.

    The filter settings is to avoid conflicts and perform filter or other functions (from other plugins you may want to execute )added to the hooks the_content,the_excerpt, and the_title.
