It’s likely an issue with authentication. Can you confirm the Public and Secret keys are in the correct fields within the Stripe settings page?

Yes double and triple checked. And that pk_test is in public field.

Other people’s stripe gateways work, but I’d prefer to use the “official” one, although the fact that there are posts relating to this going back over 8 months, and a general lack of response from the plugin authors is not encouraging!

I am having exactly the same issue, but on a live site.
Wordpress, Woocommerce and plugin are all at current versions.
Private and Public keys are in the right place.

What should we do???

Our Solution: on our site entering your Region (we’re in New Zealand, so for other it may be State or something) is NOT required.

But if the customer selects nothing they get the above error.

If they select a Region – boom! – they can checkout with no errors.

Apparently the plugin does a validation check that doesn’t marry up with the validation check that Woocommerce does.

Thanks for the suggestion @samjnz, but that makes no difference for me! I even made sure that all fields were completed (address line 2 is not required, for example) and it still errors.

The most common cause for this is the theme you are using. Can you please try this using the default 2017 theme.
