Please eliminate redirect after plugin activation

This is very common to redirect plugin to its dashboard after Activation to get better navigation for users.
But yes we can think and eliminate for the bulk actions if that is possible.
We have noted down this and let you know.

Thanks @sandhyam, that would be very helpful. Yes, some plugins do redirect when activated, though in my experience most do not. On a single activation I’m OK with the redirection, even though my personal preferences is that it does not.

However, when doing a bulk activation I find that it causes a lot of problems. For example, what if I’m doing a bulk activation of 20 plugins, of which 5 do redirection? Who’s redirection wins? Additionally, when the redirection happens it is often before the remaining plugins in the bulk activation have actually been activated. This causes an incomplete bulk activation (i.e. the redirection occurs with only 8 of the 20 bulk activations done resulting in 12 activations that did not go through.) Also, I have experienced critical errors when doing a bulk activation with redirect.

Yes, I understand this. Redirection must be avoaided while bulk activation.
But for most of users as we dont want them to lose and redirection directly to get work done faster we use redirection.

Now I have taken this in account and will solve this in upcoming releases.
Will let you know once it is done.

@sandhyam … I just got the new release v1.9. Unfortunately, this release didn’t include the fix for redirection after bulk activation of plugins. This really causes problems because it causes a fatal error on the sites and it is impossible to get back into WP Admin. The only way I’ve found to correct the redirect loop is to go into cpanel -> file manager and rename or delete Temporary Login plugin so that WP will deactivate it. It’s a real pain.

Can this get fixed?
