Please deactivate Better WordPress Minify

  • Trying this out on a development copy of a live site. When I run the Setup Wizard, on the Analyze your site step it is displaying –

    Plugin conflicts
    Please deactivate the following plugins and refresh this page

    Better WordPress Minify

    I don’t have that plugin installed on the site.

    Avada theme (latest version), hosted on Pressable.

    No. I’d never heard of it until this message was shown to me.

    I dont have any experience with pressable, but it’s possible it was pre-installed? contact your host and ask them to investigate.

    I have deactivated all plugins apart from Swift and the setup wizard still shows the warning.

    @mandraagora – thank you! That eliminates 1 possibility.
    @alphageekuk – please access your files either through ftp or cpanel / file manager. navagate to /wp-content/plugins and tell me if you see bwp-minify folder listed.
    check if there is a folder labled ‘cache’ and if there is anything inside that folder

    I’m also a support representative from Pressable.
    It seems that SPL checks to see if the BWP_MINIFY class is defined in order to determine if the plugin is installed.
    We actually prohibit the installation of BWP Minify on our hosting, and we define the BWP_MINIFY class as part of the measures we’ve taken to prohibit its installation.
    This is why SPL is indicating that the BWP Minify plugin is installed when it is not in fact.
    This said, we offer a lot of features that are also offered by plugins such as SPL.
    And if your site is performing slowly, our support team will be happy to look at it to identify any slowdown problems, as well as offer solutions.

    I see SPL just updated to 1.7.1, but I’m still experiencing the problem described above. Was 1.7.1 meant to resolve the problem? Thank you.
