Please create the ability to bulk edit “PRIMARY categories”.

  • I have a daunting task ahead of changing the primary category of thousands of products. I thought I would turn to my nifty PW bulk editor plugin which I have grown so fond of over the last couple months.

    However I noticed the “primary” category option is not available to edit through PW bulk editor. Each product can be assigned many categories. But only ONE category can be assign as the products primary category.

    Is this something you have considered? Or didnt know about? or is it something we can look forward to?

    First, thank you for the kind words! We’re very glad that our plugin has helped save you time.

    I’m not aware of the “primary” category option being a part of WooCommerce itself. Are you using another plugin for this feature?

    If it is a plugin, perhaps the author can add support for the Bulk Editor into their plugin? We do have some hooks available that make it possible for other meta data to be updated. The hook is called ‘pwbe_product_columns’ and can be seen in the pw-bulk-edit/includes/columns.php file.

    Hopefully they can add support to their plugin easily. If I’m missing something and this is part of WooCommerce itself please let me know and we’ll look into it.
