  • It is not the general policy to edit or delete forum posts. When a post is made and people contribute answers to an issue, that then becomes part of the community resource for others to benefit from. Editing or deleting posts removes this added value. In extreme circumstances, the moderation team might be persuaded to remove sensitive information but. generally, your best course of action is not to publish anything that you wouldn’t want to be public.

I’m sorry but this is not an extreme case.

I know the policy but was hoping that you still could make an exception. Not because it is an extreme case, but because it is a special case.

You see I am the author of the WGACT plugin and sometimes need those links if someone needs support. Using the forum to give support is policy too. But when a shop owner as a result of this support question gets skewed statistics in Analytics it just doesn’t make sense. In this case there is no way to follow all policies and get a perfect support result. This is why I am asking this link to be removed. In future I will offer those people asking for support a different way to send me their links.

If you could consider my request one more time would be great.

    Thanks
    Aleks

I’m sorry, but as you’ve stated this is not an extreme case. Analytics like that (just like search engine hits) just isn’t a good reason to start editing posts that way.
