Please bring back the standard sharing / starting share count

  • Thank you for the great plugin.

    I had to revert back to the previous version since the new update got rid of the standard sharing option in posts. With the recent changes in the Facebook graph API, we all lost our share counts but instead of resolving this issue you have removed the possibility to enter share counts manually. Does Sassy no longer support share counts? Would you please bring back the manual standard share counts for Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin?

    Hi there,

    Since Facebook and Linkedin share counts are not supported anymore, you won’t see the options to specify starting share count for these two social networks. You will still see this option for Twitter.

    Then how is the pro and premium version able to show share counts if the latter is no longer supported on Facebook & LinkedIn?

    You stated the following in one of the pinned Facebook topic:

    “Pro and Premium versions will help you track and show shares for every social share icon including Facebook.”

    Why not leave the manual capability?

    Because Pro and Premium versions allow you to track shares without using the Facebook graph API and any other social APIs to track shares.

    Got it. Do the Pro & Premium versions have the standard sharing option in posts (the manual standard share counts for Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin) as well?

    Yes, these have that option for every social share network you integrate.
