play/pause button shows pause when autostart disabled

Observed: when a slider is created with auto-start disabled and the play/pause button enabled, the button starts out displaying pause instead of play. When the button is clicked or a control is used to move to a different slide, the button changes to play.

Expected: the play/pause button should always display play when the slideshow is paused, and pause when the slideshow is playing.
