Player Stats

  • Hi all,

    Ok this is something i have been after for a while now and although I’ve managed to deal with things manually i could really do with a guru to help me so i can add a result and players get the correct stats please.
    Been using this amazing plugin for a while now at my main site but on my test site I’m using rookie theme and trying to do something better.

    As you know the sport im relating to is Snooker so firstly here is how the points go

    team vs team
    3 v 3 players all playing 2 games each so total of 6 frames of snooker played
    point system goes 1 point per frame win so potential 6 v 0 to be had but also a 3 v 3 is possible too.
    now to make this clear the TABLES are working fine all results reflect perfectly so no changes needed here, what i am after is player stats working

    So this is what happens a team wins 5 v 1 so one game there was a draw 1-1 but player stats show up as each player as a win.
    I want stats to show correctly like this
    If a player beats his opponent he should get “1+W” if he loses should be no change and if he draws frames so they both won a frame each it should show as a “1+D” for drawn.

    Here is the stats page
    The guy at top LEMONS he played 2 frames and won both so that’s classed as a 1+W
    yet his team m8 ranked number 11 CARTY played his 2 frames and drew so 1+D should be implemented but wasn’t instead it had him down also as 1+W I’ve had to manually change it to show correctly.
    NO player had % added either again i had to manually add everyone’s % which doesn’t seem to work

    Christ this isn’t easy to explain via type, but i really would like help with this please been using it a few seasons now and love it but surely it’s just a matter of knowing what changes to be made in the settings something i cannot figure out at all

    Thanks for reaching out!

    I believe that in your case you’ll need to store the player stats separated from the team stats. Similar to goals in socer, for example. You’d have different stats for win and draw for your players, and you’d use these in your table columns (instead of the team-wide stats).

    How is your configure screen right now? Could you send us a few screenshots?

    Guys im desperate for some help here please, I can change the win and lose to show correctly in player stats (player lists) but a draw is not working and confusing me.

    When a draw happens it goes down as a win or sometimes as a lose but never a draw what equation would i need to show correctly please

    Hi Kev!

    I believe the easiest way to achieve this is by adding the win, loss and draws as player performance stats. So under SportsPress > Configure you can add these new stats. After that you’ll be able to pull these stats as a player list, for example.

    Using the team stats for a player performance metric may cause you some issues indeed.

    I can’t thank you enough for replying but i am dateless with this and still wont pull correct results, i tried adding Win, Lose, Draw but surley just adding these names doesn’t pull the stats correctly am i supposed to do some sort of settings somewhere because this is what i am struggling with sorry

    Hi Kev!

    No worries, let me break down the steps for you.

    So the first step is adding them under SportsPress > Configure, which I believe you have done. Also, another thing I’ve forgotten, you need to make sure that the variable (slug) is unique for that, so if you have wins there and for team-wide stats make sure to have different slugs for them:

    Second is adding your data to these. So you can edit just one of your events (just to see how it works) and add the relevant data to your players.

    Now it’s time to display your data. When loading your players are you using a league table or a player list? If you are using a league table, please try using a player list as that is easier for pulling your player-related data.

    Hi again

    Done as suggested and still doesn’t pull stats sadly, yes i do use Player Lists too
    I edited a result added false scores with new player preformance details with uneque slugs and still would’t show correctly :{

    Am i right by saying this doesn’t work for the sport we use?
    I just can’t get it to work

    No worries about the wrong user.

    As for your player list, what exactly isn’t working? If the stats are separated then it should work fine. Please send us some screenshots or examples.

    Sorry i swiftly deleted the added player preformance W,L,D i created as you said using different slugs and edited a result to show a win lose and a draw so player1 lost, player2 won and player3 draw, this reflected in the table fine however the newly created player list with the preformace W,L,D selected showed no results just zeros all across

    also there was no % had no way to select order THIS is how i want to show it using best % as first order and THIS is how i want it to look in player profiles

    Hi Kev!

    I’m getting a “website offline” message here

    Anyway, if the stats are being saved, then it’s just a matter of loading them in your players lists. Are you sure you are loading the correct stats? You can even change their names temporarily (adding as win-player for example) to make sure you are selecting the player stats not the tem-stats.

    If you are and no data is being loaded, then we’ll need to check this further, but WP provides no way of doing that here. If you want you can send us more details once again via support.

    Sorry temp put into maintanence mode, enabled it now

    I presume when i add a event score with player names the stats auto update the Player List? or do i have to manually add the win lose etc to Player List?
    I am probably doing it wrong i know but ive tried mutiple times now thinking ive got it but still i cannot get it to load correct stats ggrrr

    Im out of options as i clearly am not getting this ??

    Roch, been messing again and i think i am getting it, see HERE i have created a Player List added new Frames Won Frames Lost Win Percentage etc
    Now this is fine i can manually add frames won etc as and when but the percentage will not go in highest order
    example 100% win ration needs to be at top and so on how can i get this please it will not do it

    Sorry i hope you dont mind me posting on top of my own posts but i am constaintly messing and changing things to get this to work and i think im getting there.
    I managed to get it now to sort by % but the problem i have is one player may play one game and win so hes 100% at the top of sort order when another player may play ten games ane lose just one which gives him 88.9%.
    Kinda unfair really so can’t use % to find a true ratio champ, or is there something i am missing that can be done to make this fair?
