Player statistics (Formula)

Hi!
I got a question about the player statistics:
I have created several variables such ass yellow card, red card, matches, goals etc. and these variables appear with the correct sum on player profiles and player lists.
Now I want to make averages of these like: yellow card/matches, goals/matches etc.
But the formulas does not work. I always get 0, even though the value of goals are 3, and the value of matches is 1.
I have also tried just one variable in the formula, still 0.
Is there a way to make it work?
