• I have 3 variables in player performance – gameone, gametwo, and gamethree. They are all “number” format.

I created an equation in player performance that adds all 3 of those variables together, and called it “series”. The equation looks like this: “Series = Game 1 + Game 2 + Game 3”

When I edit an event, I do not see “series” in the box score area. I also do not see “series” on the event page.

I tried creating other equations and none of them showed up, either.

Sportspress is the ONLY plugin I have installed.

Is there a bug with equations not showing up in player performance, or am I doing something wrong?

    Hi!

    Thanks for reaching out!

You won’t be able to enter the data for equations directly indeed, You’ll need to add the game 1, 2 and 3 variables and SportsPress should send you that equation and its results on the player page.

If that’s what you are doing and you still don’t see it, please kindly send us a link to your site.

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards,

I don’t see it on the player page or on the event page.

    Event Page:

    Player Page:

Ideally I’d like to auto-populate games+handicap as often as I can instead of adding it manually.

Do you want me to provide screenshots of the back end?

    Hi!

Thanks a lot these were very helpful.

And what do you have in the rest of your SportsPress > Configure screen? I’d like to see how your events are set up as well, so we can reproduce it.

    Thanks!

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Roch,

I added it to the same album so everything is in one spot, but here is a direct link for you:

Roch – if it would help, I can create an account on the back end with permissions to make changes. It’s not in any way “live”, so I don’t mind. I’d love to get this solved ??

I doesn’t look like a Player Performance variable created with an equation shows up at all in the event Box Score. If I change the variable from Equation to Number, it will show up.
You may need to create your “Series” variable under “Player Statistics” instead of “Player Performance”. Since it is a calculated field, there’s no need to enter any data. It should be calculated for you.
I think Themeboy needs to flesh out what the role is of an equation variable in Player Performance and make it work properly – or remove it.

I was having the same issue. New to Sportspress and building a test basketball site. I wanted points to be an equation that is calculated based on FGM + 3PTM + FTM rather than input manually – so I don’t have to calculate myself.

Earlier I had went into Settings > Games tab and changed Boxscore columns to Manual from Auto. To test, I went in and changed back to Auto to see what happened, and doing so brought in my new points column. So it’s related to that setting, apparently.

I did just notice a bug with this approach, though. I had “Totals” enabled, and the total for the new points column is showing as 0 instead of adding up the results as a sum.

    Hi @atomhead

Since this is an old thread maybe we can discuss it in a new ticket. We can investigate this issue further for you there.

    Thanks!

    Done! Thank you ??

    You’re most welcome!
