Player not working with external URLs

    Hello,
    I’m trying to make the player work with an external server URL. I’m trying to add this MP3 URL which is a valid file: https://turing.euskadigital.eus/124_EGDT.mp3

    I add this in the “Podcast file” field in the post, since it seems that this is allowed. The duration and file size are not calculated automatically and the player just doesn’t work.

    If I click on “Download”, I get redirected to /podcast-download/773/test.mp3?ref=download which doesn’t seem to work to download the episode. I suspect this URL is used as the origin of the MP3 file.

    I’m using an almost vanilla wordpress installation that I just started to customize, using the Twenty Twenty theme, with the Gutenberg editor and just a couple of plugins such as Akismet, Jetpack and this one.

    Is there something I’m doing wrong?
