• Hi,

I guess I am not getting a major point trying to work with jwplayer but hopefully someone can help.

I have installed jwplayer, that is, I have installed the plugin “JW Player 7 for WordPress” version 1.2.0 and I have downloaded and added on my server the jwplayer files (version 7.4.2).

On my wordpress site, I now have a menu entry called “JW Player” where I have a.o. entered player library URL and licence key.

I was now expecting when creating a post and there adding a media to have a button letting me “add media with JW player” or something similar, but nothing has changed there. It just enteres the usual [video] tag into my post.

anyone with a hint on what I am missing out on? How can I acutally use that jwplayer now in my posts?

    BR
    Oliver

Hi Oliver, sorry for the late and thanks for considering my plugin.
In the option page JW Player, add a flag to the post types where you want to add videos.
After that, go to… for example… Posts/ Add new. You’ll see a Box called JW Player 7 where you’ll be able to add your video/ videos with all them informations.
Hoping this helps, please let me know is everything works.

    Thanks for your reply.

With that I now realized that the box was on the page, I just needed to scroll waaaay down. Unfortunatly, while it now works in principle, it doesn’t help my with my issue which made me try out your plugin in the first place.

The JW Player now shows error message “Error loading media: File could not be played”. Obviously only with my larger files, and that is the same issue I am having when embedding the files with the built in wordpress function. So I guess I need to search for a solution somewhere else.

    Best regards
    Oliver
