• I’ve been testing on an iPhone 4gs and a Samsung Galaxy S2 Android.

The iPhone works perfectly, but the Samsung simply doesn’t load the song (more than 1 playlist and page tested).

Need this to work as I purchased the plugin specifically for the cross browser/device compatibility.

    — side note —
Also noticed that playlists with special characters in them don’t render, if you take out the special characters they work.

    Cheers

    Oliver

    Hi Oliver,

I did fairly extensive device testing and it’s working OK for me on all the major Android operating system versions and popular device models. But of course it’s pretty hard to test on every possible combo so thanks for reporting a problem…

It would be very helpful if you could report back on the following:
+ Specifically what exact device doesn’t it work on for you?
+ Specifically what version of Android are you running on the affected device?
+ Did you test the demo site or is it just your implementation that’s affected?

    Thanks,
    Maeve

    Hi Maeve.

Just navigated to your sample page on the device – which is a Samsung Galaxy S2 (not sure which OS, my girlfriend just ran off with her phone! How inconvenient) and it has the same error on your sample page as on my installation.

The player renders fine but when you click play nothing plays and the progress bar doesn’t… progress.

    Cheers.

Ok cool thanks for getting back to me with this info Oliver. Will look into this ASAP…

Hi Maeve – I was wondering if you ever found an issue with the android browser? I have one customer who says that she has an LG-P690b running android version 2.3.4, and she is the only customer so far who is having any problems. According to her it does not play, and this is the only support post I see from someone else who might be having the same issue.

BTW, we were having an issue with Safari on a mac, but tracked it down to being a filename issue – the filename we were using was too long. But the player worked fine on the same computer in firefox. I just thought I would mention that in case someone else has that problem.

I do not have a way to verify this personally, but for the one user I had who was having the android problems, I changed the settings to turn off auto-play and she is able to use the player now on here android version 2.3.4 with the android browser. I saw some other sites which mentioned an issue with certain versions of android and the autoplay functionality, so that seems to have been the issue, in case anyone else runs into this. Personally I would not usually have autoplay on a webpage, but this project is a subscription service and so it is not a random page where people would visit unless they are ready to listed to this music, so it made sense, but is not required so I turned it off.
