Play sound on click

Does anyone know how to implement a sound per click on the wordpress platform? I have looked into Javascript and implementing that into the website but you have to assign the atribute of the “onClick” to each item you want to play the sound and not the website as a whole.

I just want it to play a sound no matter where you click on the homepage, whether it be a link or not, navigation or background, just when you click for a short sound clip to play.

I know that this is not the best idea for a website this day and age but who i am building the website for really wants the feature.. although I have shown them many arguments against it.

Please help, anything would be better than what ive found so far.
