Play partial video for non members

    Hi

    We are setting up a WP website that will contain videos that will be for members only. I am just wondering if there is a membership plugin that will play a partial clip of video, and then stops and asks to register for a membership? I know MoviePress theme has this built in, but they do not let you embed video, which is what we do, apart from that MoviePress would have been ideal.

  • Hi Martin,

    Membership itself wouldn’t provide that specific type of feature but it could perhaps be emulated by providing a partial length video, along with some sales text, wrapped in a shortcode.

    You could then hide the display of that shortcode content from your paid members and make it visible just to visitors or free members if you have them.

    And you could then provide the full length video in that same post/page in a different shortcode that’s visible only to paid members.
