placement of tracking code for Google Analytics

trying to put in tracking code for Google Analytics and told I need to place the copy/paste script code before the </head> at the end of each page that I want to track. I do not have the </head> anywhere in my html on any one of my pages. Is there another default location for this? My website is a wordpress site.
