placeholder Search cannot be translated

  • Hi, i always work with oceanwp theme and so far there was no issue with the search related texts to translate with loco translate, so i could translate easily all of them, until now. I could translate all the search related phrases, like Sorry, but nothing matched your search terms. Please try again with different keywords., You searched for: etc text, except the Search placeholder word in the search widget form of the sidebar.
    There was an update and all the translations were gone (from the child theme!! which I think is strange :/ ), so I had to rewrite them all. However previously i didn’t do that, now i translated the main theme too (not only the child theme), but i still cannot override the search form placeholder text. Could you explain what happened and where else should I translate this?

    That’s odd. You should be able to translate the theme like before. I’ll test the issue on my end to check why it is happening.

    There has been a change in searchform.php. Version of theme 1.7.8. and before is working. Version of theme above 1.7.8. is not working.
