Hi guys just added your plugin but question. While images wait to load we just see a blank white area. Is it possible to add a default placeholder image while waiting that works for all?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello @cshinkin

    I hope you’re doing well!

If you’re referring to Lazy Loading feature. A placeholder can be added while images are being lazy-loaded. Please go to Smush > Lazy Load, scroll to “Display & Animation” and choose Placeholder. Choose a predefined image or upload your own.

Hi great answer what I required for sure but since I wrote this I discovered thumbnnails in my Revolution slider stopped showing up so I deactivated. Was there something I missed?

    Hello @cshinkin,

There could be many factors affecting the slider on your end and needs checks. Can you turn on lazy loading in Smush and help me with the link to the page where your slider is placed to investigate this further?

I am looking forward to hearing from you on it.

Hi Prathamesh I will do that right now however do not wanty to leave it activated for too long as most pages on the website have sliders.

Hi again just now not seeing an issue with the slider thumbnails so not quite sure what happened. All I have done is start the bulk compression and set an image placeholder.

One more related question what size should I make a custom lazy load fallback placeholder image?

    Hello there @cshinkin

Just so I don’t misunderstand the current state, Lazy Loading is breaking slider’s thumbnails as shown on the right side in the homepage slider?
    Please advise!

One more related question what size should I make a custom lazy load fallback placeholder image?

This is totally up to you, no specific recommendation on that. Most of the times are small images like 50x50px.

    Thank you,
    Dimitris

Hi Dimitris yes this was the problem but somehow the thumbnails in the slider recovered once I reactivated Smush. I note that in Revolution you can also set lazy load and that a while ago you fixed a bug related to this. And thanks for the size recommendation.

    Hello @cshinkin

    I trust you’re doing well!

Glad to see that the issue is resolved. I’ve marked this ticket as resolved. If you do have any followup questions or require further assistance feel free to reopen it and let us know here.
