You have to edit the theme header.php file and add the code in the appropriate location.

You can contact your theme support to achieve this.

I have the same question. I know to insert the shortcode and have the form appearing, but I want it to use the dropdown style in a custom location only (as in, not have to append it to a menu.) I would like a search icon that when clicked the form appears. It’s an option through the settings when placing in areas I don’t want, but doesn’t seem to be so when manually placing the form. Can you confirm how to do this?

@catiasteel Currently, the Ivory Search plugin does not provide this functionality but I will consider implementing it in the future version of the plugin.
