Place Order button takes me back to Cart

  • The expected flow is:
    Start at checkout, go to PayPal, PayPal sends you back to site, where you review and place order, done.

    Right now, instead of completing the order, “Place Order” takes you back to cart and checkout to PayPal again, which takes you back to “Place Order” which takes you back to the cart, etc …

    So the attempt at purchasing is an endless loop.

    Meanwhile, the order does show up in the WooCommerce order history table in a “Pending Payment” status, even though it should be complete.

    WooCommerce is on: 3.2.3
    PayPal for WooCommerce is on: 1.4.6.5

    Did you recently update WordPress and/or theme / plugins? What you’re describing sounds like a potential cache / CDN conflict. Can you make sure to clear any such tools completely and give it another try?
