• pixelthemestudio.ca is listed on the commercial themes page. It has a very attractive set of themes.

I attempted to purchase one on a one-off (non membership) basis. This was end of last week. So far I have not received the advertised email with download link; or any answer to the contact form (no other contact methods available)

In paypal the seller name is
Millecommerce, Inc and then after payment one discovers:

    the email is: [email protected]
    the customer service url: https://www.harvardboysforex.com
the twitter stream was last posted to in March.

Further research reveals that the site was sold a few months back:
https://flippa.com/114998-wordpress-themes-pixel-theme-studio. I was unable to find any other info via googling (too many generic type links, webstats, or “theme developed by” links)

I am awaiting a response to an email to the “hotmail” address. I’ll give it a couple more days before launching a paypal dispute (difficult with digital goods).

It would appear that there are enough worrying elements here that I felt a caution was appropriate.

Does anyone have any further info ?

For the record, I’ve now received the theme by email.

It “works” but note the following:

    • it does not active if you have wp relocated in a subfolder (many themes and plugins does not anticipate these wp possibilities)
    • it also does not anticpate wp-content being relocated (again not unusual)
    • there are several ‘deprecated’ messages and ‘undefined’ notices coming up (again common in all but the better ones..)

I’m capable of fixing things myself, so am ‘satisfied’ for now, and since I did not purchase membership, I have not tested whether ‘support’ is still available.

It’s a typical story of what happens to a theme business after it’s sold. Their blog and twitter account haven’t been active for many months, and the business appears to have died.

If you can’t download a theme immediately upon payment I wouldn’t bother with that company. Ask for a refund through PayPal straight away and move on. There are lots of better commercial theme companies to buy a theme from.

Hi yes – I had to laugh at myself at being caught out – was looking for a quick solution and I liked the style /look of the original author’s themes (and assumed if on the commercial theme’s list, must at least be okay.)

I’m good at php / functionality, but not so much the graphics/style expertise. I’ve bought from a variety of theme providers and yet to find one that I truly thought was “great”. They usually fall down on the quality of the php and html code, although the graphics and css might be good. Also too much built in functionality that should really be separate as a plugin.
