• Has anyone successfully integrated Pixelpost into WP?
I know theres a ‘display random pp image’ plugin, but thats all I’ve seen.

PP is nice – simple, uncluttered, but extensible. I think it will make a great combination with WP, preferably using the WP admin page for both.

  • yeah it’s great. go to the PP site, there is an addon, to integrate PP images into WP. but there is also a plugin, multiple-random-images (do a search here it) which works perfectly for pulling random images from wherever you point it to (e.g. the PP images folder).

I’m not sure what you mean in this case by integrate, but I have both PixelPost and WP using the same basic template. At the moment the latest image plug-in isn’t working for me (don’t know why) but other than that everything is fine.

It looks great, Jeremy. Did you do that by editing the pixelpost template?
I’m unable to find an addon on the PP site to integrate PP into my WordPress.

Sorry for the delay. I edited the templates I developed for my WP blog so they used statements from PP and it was very easy. There’s lots more you can do, but I went the simple route and have two independent sites that just look roughly the same.

There is a WP plug-in here that shows the latest PP photo on a WP site. That’s the one I can’t currently get to work. It should be possible to display a larger image too, but I don’t have the PHP skills.

isn’t possible to include the pixelpost page in a WP page via a php code plugin or something like that?

I’m afraid I really don’t know. I suppose you might be able to put it in an iFrame, but why would you want to?

i know what you mean jeremycherfas. i cannot get that plugin to work on my wordpress 2.0 as well.

I suppose I should amend this thread now. I have changed themes in PixelPost, no longer using the one that I did by copying my main WordPress layout. I am still not sure which I prefer. There’s something to be said for having the simplicity of the current layout, which is specifically designed to display photographs. But there’s also something to be said for the previous attempt. Ah well …

the PP plugin for WP now works (it was recently upgraded).

    No plugin needed!!!
One of my friends helped my out yesterday with a similar quest. My hosting allows me just one MySQL-db (sucks right?), so the databases from WP and Pixelpost were merged into one. No prob as they use different prefixes in the db.
Then the nice part is that my blog’s template(an adapted Minimal-Plus) was used as template for Pixelpost (minor changes needed in the code). So as you can see, it just looks like you never left my WP-blog when visiting the photoblog.
    Have a look : https://www.flawijn.be/pix/
Besides the pictures everything is in Dutch, sorry for that(still considering bloggin’ in plain Klingon).
