  • Yep same thing happened to me – going to try to restore from a backup. Figured I would come here first to see if there was an easier fix.

Just figured out the problem, make sure your PHP version is at 5.6(stable) or possibly later. I had version 5.4 and updating to 5.6 fixed the issue.

@grgilchrist same issue here, but I don’t know how to update my PHP version. Can you point me in the right direction?

It depends on what control panel software your host uses but on my platform it is under Software -> PHP Selector. If you are unsure just contact your host provider and I’m sure they can help you out.

Thanks! I was just popping back in here to say I figured it out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Bonus: now The Events Calendar will continue to work after this month as well. Guess a site crash can be a blessing in disguise.

You are welcome – glad I could help.

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out and flagging this. We have fixed that to support PHP 5.3+ and please update the latest plugin.

    Thanks!
