    Hi there,

    This is a presale question.
One of our partners has clients using Shopify. Our E-Commerce stores are on WooCommerce but we need to accommodate those on Shopify, within WordPress. This plugin is perfect for that (since we have our own customized themes.

    Question:
Does this integration support Pinterest’s Buyable Pins? I know that on Shopify that is possible but I cannot find a mention anywhere that this integration (using the plugin) has this functionality. This is urgent for us. Please let me know whether that functionality is available and we’ll be happy to build with your plugin.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately Pinterest’s Buyable Pins are only compatible with our online store and not our WordPress plugin / buy button at this time.

Couldn’t they just activate the Online Store sales channel (and not use it) and then still get access to buyable pins. The information used for buyable pins is pulled from the same products and settings as the buy button sales channel. You will end up pay $20 more (assuming you are on the $9/month plan) a month for a feature (the online store sales channel) you aren’t really using but that seems like a small price to pay for access to buyable pins.

I currently have a site where I use the WordPress plugin & buyable pins so I know it is possible.

    Hi Nick,

You are right. The reference url that is sent to Pinterest is the online store link and it allows you to checkout on Pinterest.

It doesn’t have a relationship with the buy button however.

But it doesn’t really matter if the product url is storename.myshopify.com/product as the entire transaction happens on pinterest. They aren’t redirected to your Shopify online store at any time.

One of Shopify’s biggest selling points via the WordPress plugin is access to your partnerships and I think it would be really helpful if you provided some documentation on using all of these partnerships without having using the Shopify online store feature.

Definitely something we are thinking about. Currently only Pinterest and Twitter require the online store but Facebook and all our other channels work with any Shopify account.

    Hi Nick,

Our goal is to create Buyable Pins from our WordPress/Woocommerce site.

We have the Basic Shopify Plan at $29/month and have installed the Shopify plugin on our WordPress/Woocommerce site.

We don’t want to use the Shopify Store.

What is the way to setup Shopify and Pinterest to be able to create Buyable Pins from our WordPress/Woocommerce site?

    Thank you for your help!
    Mat
