Pinned Posts?

    Hello! I’ve started using this theme and I’m trying to work out how this all works. I pinned three of my first posts to the front page, or so I thought. But when I wrote out the fourth post, it bumped one of the third off. I’m wondering how to keep the same posts front and center? And where do the posts go, how do you find them once the last three (which is what it seems to be showing) are the only ones lined up at the top? Does that make sense? Thanks!

    Hi!

    So, the area up there for 3+ posts is what I call the “Featured” area. To modify it as you wish, you need to go to:

    1. Customize > Theme Options > Blog > Featured Category (Create a category called “Featured” for example)

    2. Add the posts you wish to feature to this “Featured” category, and remove the post from the category when you no longer wish to feature the post up top.

    3. Customize > Theme Options > Blog > Featured Post Count > 3+ (If you select something more than 3, it will automatically turn into a slider)

    Note: If you have, lets say 10 posts in the featured category, the most recent ones will always show first.

    Note 2: There is no point in Stickying posts to get the post to appear there up top, as the featured area looks for the featured category instead.

    Note 3: If you don’t select any featured category, it will auto-show the 3+ most recent posts, and exclude them from the posts below.

    Note 4: If you don’t want the featured posts to be excluded from the post list below, go to Customize > Theme Options > Blog > Featured Posts > CHECK and save.

    Also, I see that you use a normal widget for the sidebar image/description – I’d suggest using the in-built profile image there instead.

    To use it, go to:
    Customize > Theme Options > Header > Profile Image > Upload your image (minimum 400px width)
    Then add profile name / description as well, and it will appear in the sidebar as on the demo site.

    To add social links, go to Customize > Theme Options > Social Links > Add New and add them there – they will appear in the sidebar and footer.

    Thank you! I’m going to work on that now. Yes, I couldn’t figure out how to get my photo over there and I know it still doesn’t look right. Thanks for telling me how, I’m going to fix that as well!
