• Hello,

I recently had to close down all my sites and restart them. Unfortunately, two of them (dkbrantley.com and sirbrody.com) have an odd glitch I can’t figure out. When I try to make a post or page, I cannot use photos. I can add media, but when the picture is uploaded, it is simply an empty box in place of a thumbnail picture.

It is not just my pictures having this problem. It is the pre-installed photos that come with the themes I’m using. Do note I’m just using plain ol’, free WordPress themes. I’m a writer – not a web designer – so I don’t know how to do code or any of that. So I’ve not tried to mess with the inner workings.

Hope this makes sense and someone can help!

    Thanks so much,

    Daniel

  • have you any published pages / posts in which we can see the issue?
it could help identify the problem.

Sure! I only started one page, as I noticed the photo problem right away. Do note there is no sign of photos on the page. The blank thumbnails can only be seen in my dashboard. I can’t even insert them into the posts or pages.

Thanks again so much for your quick response.

Sorry – here is the link: https://www.sirbrody.com/books/

with you, so, you’re in the backend and editing and you attempt to add media and get a blank thumbnail.

are you able to send one or two full URLs of the media?
we can then place it in the browser and see if it throws up any error or warning messages.
sometimes it can be a conflict where the assets and sites have a mismatch with security
for example part of the page is secure and part of it is being pulled from an unsecure area.

usually hosting companies can fix it, commonly known as mixed content error but just guessing at this stage
