pictures not showing

  • I have just set up a new blogsite and I can’t get uploaded pictures to show at all!?
    The uploader works just fine, but the pictures are only showing as text, as a link which you can’t open (a frame starts searching like forever…)
    It doesn’t matter what pictures I choose to upload, it’s the same result. All jpg by the way. They are in the media library now, but just the names of the pic, not any actual pictures… this drives me mad!!

    At my other wp blogsite this problem has never occurred.

    Can anybody please tell me if there is any special plugin or trick you must do before you are able to show pictures on your blogsite?
    (I have tried with different themes, in case it was something wrong with the theme css, but it made no difference.)

  • I have the same problem with my second WP site.
    I just get a grey frame with the same text as written in the caption. By the way in my situation, it is the same problem for all media files.
    The first WP site I created, I did not have any problems at all.
    So I would very much appriciate to learn what you find out.

    I have solved my problem
    Go to settings and check that it should organize media files (pictures ..) in years and month.
    I don’t know why, but suddently all works fine

    settings : miscellaneous
    wp-content/uploads somehow changed/reverted on its own to wp-content/plugins – and “organize into month – year” became unchecked.

    It makes no sense that it did this, but it did.

    Thanks hinnerfeldt, I wouldn’t have thought to look there for the problem.
