• I have been using the Publicize for a long time to post on twitter and facebook automatically, it has always worked well but now i have been noticing the pictures are missing from the facebook posts and just half image of my screen banner in its place.

I have double checked any settings but cannot see a reason for this failure to show the images it seems to be since September as they looked ok in August

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

When you share a post on Facebook, or when Jetpack Publicize publishes a post to your Facebook page, Facebook crawls the page and looks for Open Graph meta tags in the head to build a complete post preview (with an image, title, description, …).

Jetpack automatically creates these Open Graph Meta tags for you unless you already use another Open Graph plugin, in which case we let the other plugin handle things.

Looking at your site, you seem to be using another plugin to handle Open Graph Meta Tags on your site. That plugin, however, does not insert any Open Graph Image Tag, and doesn’t specify any image width or image height either.

To solve this issue, you could deactivate that extra plugin and rely on Jetpack to output the tags for you. Another alternative would be to get in touch with the plugin author and ask them to implement og:image, og:image:width, and og:image:height. They can read more about it here:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/sharing/best-practices#precaching

You can also see for yourself what Facebook sees by entering one of your posts’ URLs in Facebook Debugger:
    https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug

    I hope this helps.

I have not added any new plugins to the site this year and the facebook images used to appear pre August so I am not sure which plugin has taken over the open graph as I have not changed any settings.

I will have a check through my plugins

    thanks for your reply

It may help to temporarily disable all other plugins on your site. Then, activate them one at a time to determine which one is adding the Open Graph tags.

Please let us know how that works for you, and we can go from there!

I have checked my plugins but they are all security ones like wordfence, limit login etc or an Seo one (All In One SEO Pack) that has been on for years there is nothing for posting to facebook and nothing new since 18th August when the pictures stopped working

it appears to be (All In One SEO Pack) that I have been using for years, something, somewhere has changed in their free version and as there is no support for free it will have to go!

    Thanks for your help
