Pictures missing after WordPress Upgrade
-
Hello,
after upgrading from WordPress 4.3.1 to 4.4 several of my pictures are not displayed anymore on my website. The problem arises because this new responsive srcset-attribute still points to the old file name and thus looks for a file that does not exist anymore. The src-attribute of the img-tag, however, points to the new file name.
I also checked the file name on the page editing site. It points to the correct image. Even after replacing the image by inserting it again from the media center, the picture is still missing.Interestingly this problem does not apply to all of my pictures although I renamed all of them following the same principle.
My WordPress environment is in German, so I don’t know the exact link and button titles in English, so I will try to describe how I renamed the files:
First I selected the image from the media center, then I clicked on “Edit more details” (link in the middle) below the form with the file infos.
On the next screen, I changed the file name (large input field above the permalink) and then pressed the blue “Save” button.Like I said, this problem just applies to some of my pictures, others (although I renamed them in the same way) are displayed correctly.
Any ideas regarding the cause of this issue?
Thanks for the help
