Pictures "freeze" or take mintues to load

I installed swift theme without incident. Everything was working fine until last night when I tried to upload some pictures. During the upload many times it said it failed and couldnt upload but they ended up being there in the end. When I got to write a post and click insert media the photos seems to more or less freeze. over time i can maybe eventually click them but it doesnt really function. I disabled any watermarking plugins I had, and any other recent plugins. I also followed the media size recomendations on swifts site. Idea. it has basically crimpled my ability to post anything with photos.
