Pictures are RIDICULOUSLY slow to upload.

  • It doesn’t matter what speed connection I end up using. Pictures are always ridiculously slow to upload. It’s gotten to the point where my wife has started putting her pictures on a word document, printing it to PDF then uploading the PDF so she only has to upload one file.

    Even if we shrink the pictures down to about 500k, it still takes WAY too long to upload.

    Is there something wrong? Is there not a feature where I can upload multiple pictures at once? Do I have to sit there and upload one picture at a time? I don’t remember it being this slow. When we first got the blog, I remember the pictures being just as quick as they should be. What changed?

    I guess I started noticing this problem back in mid-late spring 2008. As an example on how bad this problem is, I have a post that I did back in early November with 6 pictures that took 90 minutes to upload.

    I’ve also experienced a new problem since upgrading to 2.7. This problem also involves pictures. All the old posts still work correctly, but any post made with 2.7 I can’t click the thumbnails to view the image full size. They are stuck in forever thumbnails.

  • I don’t know if this is really any help but 500K is still a large file as far as I am concerned. Picture/photo wise anyway. I try to resize my photo’s to between 50 and 100K for email and uploading alike.

    OMG its such a pain in the arse its happening to me too! get your arse into gear wordpress and fix it up!
