I use the WP Retina 2x plugin (3.2.6 ) for the website feed2go.com.
If I open the website on iPad Air or an iPhone 5s some pictures are not displayed. This only happens if the plugin is activated. The amount of pictures that is not displayed changes any time I refresh the website.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks a lot!

    Which method are you using?

    Thanks for your fast answer!
I chose the method “Picturefill” as recommended.

If you try another one, does it work? The PictureFill script is not made by me, it’s by those guys: https://github.com/scottjehl/picturefill/issues
So if on the client side things are working differently between a browser/device and another, they should be contacted.

Are you sure it only happens on iPad Air and iPhone 5s? Isn’t it on all retina devices?

    Thanks. I will try that.

I tested the website on different retina devices.
The problem didn’t appear on an iPad 4 (,Google Nexus tablet & Samsung Galaxy S3).
I only had those problems with an iPad Air and an iPhone 5s.

I will let you know if I have news about my problem….
    Thanks for your help!

    This solved the problem!
    Thanks a lot!!!!!

I switched to method “Retina-Images” now.

I’ve been battling this exact issue on multiple sites. I was using picturefill as well and getting this bug. Occurring randomly on Apple retina devices, sometimes images would load, sometimes they would not. I was not able to test on other mobile retina devices. No issues at all on retina desktop devices.

You should go over GitHub and check that with the PictureFill script guys. They might know that already. If it’s not fixed after all this time, I am afraid this is an Apple issue. I think I heard about it…
