    No, it’s not normal.

    Previews / intro’s that strip html may not show the picture without modifying the theme as it is html and some of them strip html and look for featured images.

    However, pages that show the full content with html should show it.

    What’s in the html source on the front end? E.g. Is the image link there? Is it malformed or changed? Has all html in the post body been stripped?

    If it shows in the back-end, generally, it should show in the front end unless a theme modifies or filters the post contents.
