Picture Problem…with a twist?

  • Hey All.
    Running 2.8 , Default theme, NO widgets.

    Problem – -no pictures – anywhere on my secondary site (see below). Not even in the Dashboard. All pics have been replace by text. Like the theme is in safe mode.

    Running two sites (if it matters)
    https://www.soundsxlnt.com is the main (host and pictures galore) and https://www.voicesformalawi.com is residing in a directory in the root of soundslnxt (no pictures at all).
    No preview pictures on the appearance page, no icons etc. Just have one image up right now to help resolve this problem.
    All images are visible in a picture viewer and uploading images is not a problem.
    Please – Help Mr. Wizard !

    Since you appear to have two wordpress installations (correct me if I’m wrong), one at the root and one in the mawali folder, I believe the above link does not apply to you… which also then means that the URL vs Blog URL also does not apply.

    So your settings should just be:
    URL: https://www.soundsxlnt.com/voicesformalawi
    Blog: https://www.soundsxlnt.com/voicesformalawi

    Changed it …cleared cache….no difference
    And yes you are correct about the two web sites one in the root and one in the directory called voicesformalawi .

    ARG. I really appreciate your input in trying to solve this little puzzle.

    No worries.

    That’s really weird.
    Those should be your settings because that’s how mine are all set up and I have like 5 now or something ridiculous.

    Maybe try uploading some new images now that you’ve changed that setting and see if they upload and display properly.

    I am ready to employ a very large gun…. I am very ready to nuke both sites. With the exception that the soundsxlnt one is my business site and I can’t afford to have it down. And yet something nags at me that the problem is in the root and not in the sub. This is my fourth nuke it and re-install and each time it is the same. When I am in the site pictures show up and I can post them , see them etc. As soon as I log out , clear the cache and go visit the site https://www.voicesformalawi.com all the pictures fail to display. The text stays but the pictures go. THEN when I put in https://www.soundsxlnt.com/voicesformalawi I get pictures. It is one line in a bundle of lines of code. AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

    I am having the same problem – I’ve nuked a number of times and started over and can’t get any pictures to view in my header. I have three other blogs with the same theme and don’t have any problems with them (one was set up on Friday). I’m using that Atahualpa (sp?) theme also but had the same issue with no pictures on theme “Sliding Door”.

    Have you had any luck fixing this?

    No not yet. BUT I am going to get hold of my hosting and see if they have any solutions. There really weird part is that the site was working. Yes sir it WAS working just fine. So I really don’t know what the heck is going on. And code may be poetry, but to me it’s a foreign language. IF I do find an answer how the heck do I let you know?
