    Hi,
I am new both to wordpress and to freedom.
I have managed to setup my site and to customize most of the aspects I wanted to.
I want to make a very very minimalist family only photo blog. So I have chosen “image” as default article layout with one picture and it’s corresponding caption below which is meeting exactly my need.
Now I have not been able to remove the concept of “title” and worse when I am on the welcome page set as “list of previous articles” I see big blocks with the title, “published date” and category when in fact I would like to see the picture.
I could go into the templates and edit the theme to do that but before doing so I would prefer to know whether it is “configurable” within the theme first.
Thanks in advance for any help
    Regards
    STephane

  • Hi @stabary06,

    Thank you for writing in,

Could you provide us a link to the page or post that you are having problem with so that we can look into it in detail? That would be helpful and easier to find a solution.

I am at the very very beginning of the design.
Here is what it looks like for the moment: https://www.tabary.net/wordpress/

What I am trying to achieve looks more like this: https://i.ibb.co/hXyxF5f/Screenshot-2021-02-10-141750.jpg

With the individual “blog articles” appearing as a list of tiles (1 or 2 columns I don’t care) but where each tile is the actual picture included in the blog article not a green tile with a title.
In fact, as I’d love to make it even simpler for authors, I would want no title and no category but instead the title being automatically generated using the author name (a plus if I have the avatar icon like on my screenshot).

Contrary to the screen shot, I do not mind having only the picture on the main pages showing the list because I want to activate comments. So the viewer would need to click on the image to go to the article page where they would see the caption attached to the photo and they’ll have the possibility to comment.

I know the possibilities or wordpress and even freedom theme are endless but in my case in fact they are a burden as I want to drive my authors to a very simple one photo, one text publication.

I need the account management, no real need for navigation beyond the classic archive and potentially search by date capability. And that’s it.

    Hi @stabary06 ,

We have worked out a solution for you based on the available features of the theme. In order to change the green tile with a title to a tile with an actual picture you can go to Appearance > Customize > Design > Posts page listing display type > Select Normal View. This will display your contents like you wanted (as provided in the screenshot) and you can carry on with further customization. You can remove the title of the post and just keep the image that you want or keep the title as well. Please check out the screenshot provided below to see how the contents will be displayed after this configuration.

You can also go to Appearance > Customize > Additional Option > Author Bio Option in order to display the bio of the author. Please write us back if you have any other queries or need any further help.
