picture in blog appears twice-Visual theme

  • I am using the Visual Theme.
    My problem is, that a picture appears twice, if I click on the post in my blog.
    One in the actual post (where it is supposed to be) and also on the right side, where you see blog posts:

    I just want to see the post after I click on it on the main page and not also in the right section.
    Where do I look for a solution. I am not a programmer and
    I am using wordpress for the first time. So have grace with me!

  • So the right side seems to be showing your most recent posts. This looks like it may be being controlled by widgets. Check out (inside your admin) Appearance => Widgets and see if there is as latest post widget being called or recent posts, etc.

    Thanks for helping!
    Under widgets>sidebar top is a window where you can choose how many posts will be shown. (It is set to 5 now.)
    I am not sure if I can change anything there.
    Can I attach a screenshot somehow?

    Well if you don’t want the posts to appear on the right just disable that widget.
