• All of you gurus, I abase my unworthy newbie self humbly at your feet. Please bestow upon me the answers of your great wisdom!
I’ve been having fun working through the install and trouble shooting of Pictorialis II for a few days now, and have one last (I hope!) issue that I need help with.
After testing adding a picture to the general category, then a second one, the thumbnails and resized pictures are showing, but the original is not viewable.
I ftp’d 5 pictures into a …/wp-admin/upload/test directory, then created a new album called Test. Those 5 pictures appear OK – thumbnails & resized, and the original images are viewable just fine.
Next I added two pictures to the Test album/category, one at a time, and the thumbnail & resized picture are appearing just fine, but again the original is not viewable.
I get a 404 error page, with the “The requested URL /pictorialis/upload/test102104P9300004.JPG was not found on this server.” I’m not figuring out where to correct the path for this.
My install can be viewed at https://www.thorlind.com/pictorialis .
I’d appreciate anyone telling me what I’ve overlooked.
    Thanks,
    – Thor

Yep. I posted my problem there the other day. I thought I might try here too. If it’s not appropriate for me to bring this question here, we can shut down this thread. ??

    Nooo…… it’s still worth posting here ??

The flower image has a faulty url:
    upload/test102104Leafhoppers6.1280×1024.jpg
Those last chars may be breaking that.
Still looking for the cat …

Yes, the faulty URL is the problem. For some reason the link is looking to /pictorialis/upload/filename.ext, but the direcory where the original files are located is actually /pictorialis/wp-admin/upload/filename.ext. I just can’t figure out in which file to look for whatever it is that needs correcting.

(heavy sigh…) I’m just not knowledgeable enough yet to figure out what I’m doing wrong with my installation & configuration. I’m going to remove pictorialis for now, & will probably try again when the new version comes out and is being actively supported. Hopefully, I’ll have learned a little more by then. From what I’ve seen so far, I love the app, & look forward to being able to get it up and running.
