    Hey there,

It seems like, since the last update, that Picking a Child Category also activates the Parent Category for a Product.

Is this behaviour intentional? How can it be reverted?

    All the best,
    Niko

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you please elaborate on your issue a bit more please? Do you mean when you are on sub-category it displays the product of the main category as well?

Let me know, and I’ll be glad to help further.

Heya, thanks for getting back Daniyal ??

Well it behaves like this – It only happens when i change somethings in the back-end,
for example i add some text to the product post type, and after updating the post, suddenly the parent category gets activated ( without me clicking it )

Even when quick-editing a post ( even when i don’t change something, just click on the
update button ), the parent category becomes “activated” —

    All the best,

    Hello,

Are you referring to the Product categories section in the product edit page? If yes, I’m unable to replicate the issue with WooCommerce 6.8.0.

When a child category is selected, only that child category stays selected – https://snipboard.io/Fu03fL.jpg

Have you done a conflict test to see if the issue is coming from a plugin/theme conflict? The best way to do this is to temporarily switch your theme back to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If that resolves the issue, then re-enable plugins one-by-one until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.

You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

    Heya,

thanks very much, i’ve figured out that the DOKAN multivendor plugin is causing
    this behaviour since last update.
