Pick’Em

  • Hello, I am really trying to find a plug-in to create this pool that my brothers and I run, and I am unsure if it’s possible with your plugin, so I figured I’d ask. Right now it’s all done via text/email and an excel spreadsheet.

    The concept is for NFL football, and each week participants have to pick one team. However many points that team wins by is how many points they get for that week. Once a team is picked, you can’t pick them again for the season. If the team loses and you picked them, you get minus whatever that loss was by. Scores are added up throughout the season and after Week 17 we crown the winners.

    Do you think it’s possible to make this format work on your plugin?

    I understand that there might even be another method or plugin for this concept, since we were able to manage this on just excel sheets. So I am open to other ideas if you think there is something else worth looking into. ??

    Hi,
    the concept of pick the winner has been done with my plugin, but that was for a winning team per fixture. If I understand you correctly, you only pick one team in every round of matches.

    Can it be done? Yes, I think it can be done. The plugin can be extended to quite a great length with the filters in the plugin.
    But looking at your wishes it will not be without a lot of work coding PHP and some jQuery.

    I also see that scoring can end up negative. Not sure how code will respond to that because the plugin expects positive integers for the points and the total score.

    Thanks for the quick answer. I figured there was some pretty complex additional work that would be necessary, but I at least thought to ask before I went down that path. Thanks again and awesome plugin!
