I note that it’s possible to add phrases using this plugin. For example, for a site that covers Toastmasters in Akron and Cleveland Ohio, I could add “Akron Toastmasters”, “Cleveland Toastmasters” to the “Front page keywords” box …but does it make sense to do this? In other words, is this the best way to make searches for “Akron Toastmasters” and “Cleveland Toastmasters” point to the shared website?

    Hi Patrick,

I’d focus on including those phrases inside the content and also in the description (important). I doubt that there is a search engine out there that returns results based on the keywords meta tag. However, some search engines may use the keywords meta tag to get an idea about how to categorize the content.

So, I wouldn’t add any phrases in the “front page keywords” box. Instead I’d go ahead with something like Toastmasters, Akron, Cleveland. I tend to use keywords in the same way I add tags to the content. I don’t think you can go wrong using this practice.

    Hope this helps.

    George
