  • Hi Monika,

Glad you like the update ??

No, I’ve not tested or made any effort to make Zip Recipes ready for PHP7. Where does this come up, I’m curious? Is your host using PHP7?

What really sucked for me is that this update broke some peoples websites because they were on PHP 5.2. So it seems I can’t rely on users having PHP 5.3 let alone anything higher ??

BTW, I repsond to questions much quicker on email: hello at ziprecipes dot net.

I would like to switch to php 7 because it is faster :-). Most of my customers have asked me about this version.

    WP recommend php5.6.;

5.2 is very old. But ok for now we can’t switch.

    thanks for explaining!

    kindly regards

    Monika

    Hi Monika,

It’s great that you have forward looking customers ??
As soon as I can, I’ll start using PHP7 as I believe it’ll make my job easier too!

    Cheers,

I hope so , because your plugin is the only one with “no php7” support.
I have asked 19 plugin authors the last two days, and all have promised me that their plugin must work with this php version. If not, they will give me support ??

So we have to wait, because your plugin is one of the “must work” ?? :-).

Haha, so the pressure is on me now, eh ??

    or
    diddle dee dee

    YEAH!

    you got it!

    ??

Upgraded a customer to PHP7 using the plugin and the site fails to load with the following error:

PHP Fatal error: Cannot declare class ParseError, because the name is already in use in /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public/wp-content/plugins/zip-recipes/_inc/h2o/h2o/errors.php on line 0

    Hi justin,

I’d recommend that you downgrade for now. I apologize. I’m working on removing the h2o code that you see cause the problem so hopefully that will help.

No worries, just wanted to report it thanks!

Hot off the press! Version 4.5.2.4 is PHP 7 ready!

Thanks, Monika. Let me know if you encounter anything weird.
