I run several sites and use Gigpress on a couple of them. Today I got an email from my host (SiteGround), telling me my site is not compatible with PHP 7.1, claiming two plugins are not compatible with that version of PHP. One of them is Gigpress. I find that an odd claim, can you guys offer any insight into this?

Is there anything that I can send back to them to say it is compatible with PHP 7.1, or is it really not? If it isn’t, that might be a problem for me.

I am using v2.3.23 of Gigpress on WordPress 5.2.2. Tkx.

NOTE: Before posting, I found this post by someone else who claimed the same thing. That post was eight months ago. Has anything been done along these lines? Thank you.

  • Hey @joe-siegler

I tested this with PHP 7.1, 7.2, and 7.3 with WP 5.2.2 and did not experience an issue. Are you still experiencing the conflict? Is Siteground preventing the site from updating PHP versions?

Do you have a Go-Geek/staging plan to test with? If so, set up the staging, disable all other plugins, and attempt to update the PHP on this site.

Are you able to share a link to the domain?

    Thanks
    Courtney ???????
