    Hello–

    We are using version 3.6.9.
Our host, Siteground, informs us that they cannot upgrade us to PHP Version 7.1 because BackWPUp is incompatible with that version.

    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi @jimgasperini
Yes, BackWPUp is tested and worked with PHP 5.6,7.0,7.1,7.2,7.3 or the lower 5.3.3 or 5.4. So you should not worry about that ??

For your references, here is a link with the same question as you and a WordPress forum moderator has confirmed she currently running about 20 sites with PHP 7.1 and got no issue with BackWPUp ??

    Hello–

I contacted SiteGround support. They said:

I was able to reproduce the message which you got for Incompatible plugins: BackWPup, Events Manager Pro, Ninja Kick: Contact Form, WP File Download.

Based on your reply regarding your web developer – ‘I contacted the developers and all four report that their plugins are in fact compatible with this and later versions of PHP”,
please contact the developer and request to send an email to [email protected] (with CC to [email protected]). In the email, your developer needs to include the plugin version and the information what he thinks might be triggering our
    compatibility checker false-positive results.

The email address [email protected] is on our SG Optimizer developer who will be glad to review the case and consult with your developer regarding the issue and the email.

    FYI.

    Hello,

I’ve been asked to update php version to 7+ in order to update some themes and plugins. When this plugin will be compatible with php 7+ versions?

    Hi @mauricio-gouvea
Please, no worry, BackWPUp is tested and works with PHP 7+, in facts, we also using BackWPUp and PHP 7.2 for all of our sites.
The reason you may get warnings from some plugins compatibility scanner is that BackWPUp also have to support older PHP versions too ( 5.5, 5.6)
