• Hey all,

So I went on my site today to find the site won’t load, all I get is the loading circle which atm has been going for 2 hours!

Having spoken to my hosts it seems that they have updated to php 5.4 with fast cgi.

My files and database is still present on the server, and all my other addon domains which use wordpress 4x still work fine, though the two wordpress legacy sites I had in a protected folder running wp 2x no longer work either.

Is this likely to have been the cause? How can I rectify it?

So it seems that switching php back to 5.2 makes the site work. Any ideas why this may be? I’m using the Peano theme.

I enabled debug and get the following:

Strict Standards: Redefining already defined constructor for class auto_thickbox in /xx/wp-content/plugins/auto-thickbox-plus/auto-thickbox.php on line 555

Fatal error: Call-time pass-by-reference has been removed in /xx/wp-content/plugins/flickrpress/flickr.php on line 67

    Any ideas?

If you have sites running WP 2.x, then yes that is likley the problem. The solution is to upgrade those sites to the latest WordPress…. which you should do for security reasons anyway.

This thread explains how to upgrade WordPress via FTP.

To clarify it was a 3.9.2 version that stopped working.
