PHP updated in Google Cloud but PHP Update Required not going

There may be more than one version of PHP available. Check for a PHP directive in .htaccess and php.ini — both files in your site’s root. WordPress uses whatever version it’s presented with; it doesn’t choose. If you don’t find a PHP specification there, please contact your host’s tech support to see where they specify PHP versions.

I am using Google Cloud. I did not find ‘php.ini” file in my root directory. Also, Even after fixing the .htaccess file, nothing changed. Please help and explain to me like a beginner.
