Client received an email from WordPress today with the following error message, and I can confirm on the server error logs these also exist. Running WordPress 5.8, with Yoast 16.8. Any idea what is causing this? The site language is English.

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 2583 of the file /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/generated/container.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Class 'Yoast\WP\SEO\Conditionals\Slovak_Support_Conditional

Can these errors just be safely ignored?

Thanks for reaching out here. WordPress v5.0 sends an email when it finds an issue itself on a site and switches to the recovery mode to make sure the site can run without breaking anything. However, the system still has faults as when an update happens, it cannot detect all the updated files correctly due to the site cache, and as such, it sends a false positive email sometimes like you have received this time.

We can confirm that you have received a false positive email from your site (if you’re still is still running), and this issue typically occurs after performing the plugin update. You won’t need to make any changes on your website as your site will continue working as expected, and you will no longer receive such an email after the cache of your site is cleared itself. You may receive such an email in the future, as explained in the above paragraph, but that’s just fine.
